This week has simply flown by! I am amazed at how fast it went.
We had what Keystone calls a 'Members Gathering' tonight which was just incredible. Two members from our community group were baptized. These are two very good men whom I have become to be quite good friends with. Our comminty group is simply filled with genuine caring people. We are blessed to be a part of it.
After the gathering we met at one of the family's houses for dinner for smoked brisket and ham. It was just delicious.
Anyway... on to my point of this posting. Brandon (the pastor of Keystone Church, our church in Keller) had an incredible message. The one thing that touched me deeply was he said "Have you ever asked God to let you see people the way he does?" POWERFUL! I've never done that before, or for that matter, even thought about it! What an incredible gift to have. This is life changing stuff. How many times have we been rude to someone, or disliked someone because of their personality or behavior? What if we could see that person through God's eyes? What would you see? How would you treat them?
I'll leave you with that thought.

Buffet Billions Donated to Gates Charity |

Warren Buffet , the world's second richest man, announced over the weekend that he will soon donate 85% of his entire net worth, weighing in at around $37 Billion, to charities, with over 80% of it going to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This makes it the single largest monetary donation in history.
This news was indeed stunning. Buffett, 75, has for decades said his wealth would go to philanthropy but has just as steadily indicated the handoff would be made at his death. Now he was revising the timetable.
"I know what I want to do," he said, "and it makes sense to get going." On that spring day his plan was uncertain in some of its details; today it is essentially complete. And it is typical Buffett: rational, original, breaking the mold of how extremely rich people donate money.
Buffett has pledged to gradually give 85% of his Berkshire stock to five foundations. A dominant five-sixths of the shares will go to the world's largest philanthropic organization, the $30 billion Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, whose principals are close friends of Buffett's (a connection that began in 1991, when a mutual friend introduced Buffett and Bill Gates).

Google to Share Ad Revenue on Google Video |

Google announced yesterday that they are testing ads on videos on the Google Video service, matching capabilities that other video services have had for a while. Up to now, Google Video uploaders could make their video available either for a fee or for free. The new ad-laced videos are available on Google Video's "free today" section. The new ads appear as banners above the video.
When the test concludes, Google plans to run auctions where advertisers bid to have their ads displayed on each video. The ad revenue will be split with the video owner.
Time for me to start collecting checks from the videos I have up there.

Well, this is my first post in the family only section of my blog. My traffic is increasing and I am excited! The ads on the site are generating about $1.00 a day. So shear math says, keep doing what I am doing times 100 and I should make $100 a day, etc.
I just got through reading about a guy who started his blog and content sites 19 months ago. He spend three hours a day writing the software and content for the site. After 19 months he is making $3000 a week in ad revenue. Woooo hooo! Let's hope I can figure that out!

This should get you pro digital camera fans drooling! Dalsa Semiconductor has fabricated an image sensor with more than 111 million pixels. The company claims the 4 x 4-inch charge-coupled device, configured as 10,560 x 10,560 pixels, is the world's highest-resolution image sensor and the first to break the 100 million-pixel barrier.
Dalsa, a division of Dalsa Corp. (Waterloo, Ontario), said it has delivered the chip to Semiconductor Technology Associates (STA; San Juan Capistrano, Calif.).
STA developed the chip for the Astrometry Department of the U.S. Naval Observatory with funding from the Navy's Small Business Innovation Research program. Dalsa manufactured the device for STA at its wafer fabrication facility in Bromont, Quebec.
Soon to arrive as a Canon 111d. (I wish!)

'Screech' Selling 'Save My House' T-Shirts to Avoid Foreclosure |

It appears my buddy screech needs our help!
MSNBC: MILWAUKEE - More than a bell is needed to save Dustin Diamond this time around. Diamond, best known as geeky Screech Powers on the 1989-1993 teen comedy series "Saved by the Bell," is selling T-shirts with his photo on them to try to raise $250,000 so he doesn't lose his gray two-story house under a foreclosure order.
If the public didn't care, I as an entertainer wouldn't have been a success," he said.
Diamond, 29, is trying to sell nearly 30,000 shirts - at $15 or $20 (autographed) each - to supplement the income he makes as a standup comic so he doesn't have to move from his Port Washington home, about 25 miles north of Milwaukee.
The T-shirt has a photo of Diamond holding a sign that says, "Save My House." The back of the shirt reads, "I paid $15.00 to save Screeech's house." The third "e" was added to get around copyright laws, he said.
He's selling the shirts on his Web site: http://www.getdshirts.com.
The foreclosure order was filed last month in Ozaukee County Circuit Court.
Diamond appeared on Howard Stern's satellite radio show Tuesday to plead his case. "I'm doing great with my comedy, but this is definitely a low point," he said. "Real life comes in and affects you."

He'll be staying with the company, but is also moving to a more fulltime position with the Gates Foundation. "Microsoft Corp. today announced that effective July 2008 Bill Gates, chairman, will transition out of a day-to-day role in the company to spend more time on his global health and education work at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The company announced a two-year transition process to ensure that there is a smooth and orderly transfer of Gates' daily responsibilities, and said that after July 2008 Gates would continue to serve as the company's chairman and an adviser on key development projects." CTO Ray Ozzie will assume Gates' role of Chief Software Architect, and CTO Craig Mundie will also take on more leadership responsibility.

The two inch Space Cube PC |

By Mike Murray on

The Space Cube is the world’s smallest personal computer. The unbelievably minuscule cube (2 x 2 x 2.2 inch case) packs 300 MHz CPU and 64 MB of SDRAM. The Space Cube offers a healthy number of ports, including USB, Ethernet, flash memory, monitor port, Space wire, serial connection, and microphone. This micro PC runs on a Linux named Atom Linux. Shimafuji, the manufacturer of the Space Cube, has recently released the SEMC5701A, which is slightly smaller than its predecessor.
The SEMC5701A is named Teacube and is built around an NEC Electronics VR5701 processor clocked at 266 or 333MHz. The Teacube includes 16 MB of Flash memory and 64 MB of SDRAM. The external video connector supports up to 1208x1024 resolution with 65K colors. Lineo Solutions’ Vr5701 patch enable the T-cube to run embedded Linux. The tiny pc is also offered in various colors. The Japanese have truly assembled a personal computer that fits in your pocket.
I'd highly recommend my brother use one of these to run his shuttlecraft project rather than a C=64 (Commodore 64). The company offers the schematics for all of their miniature PCs to help developers and hobbyist integrate them into their projects. I've posted the schematic to this particular PC.
Stop laughing! Look, It's got ethernet, it's got USB, it's got serial, it's got audio in and out, it runs linux, that means it's immediately useful as a little usb printer server, or all sorts of remote serial applications, or for hiding in amongst your hifi gear to stream MP3s to it, or to plug into the USB on your Topfield 5800 PVR so you can copy your recordings across the network and upload TV guide stuff. You could plug a USB ADSL modem into it and use it as an ADSL router / firewall. A USB camera will turn this into a networked security camera or webcam. The possibilites are almost limitless.
USA List Price: $325 each

I've moved the Family Postings to a new URL. If you're a member of our family, you can email me for the new URL that contains our photo albums and family news.
Sorry I've had to do this, but with the literally hundreds of people who are reading my site I felt it better to keep those items private. I'll still post some personal related stuff, but I wanted a section I could keep private.

Billie Piper to leave Doctor Who |
|
|
By Mike Murray on

|
|
 |
| Billie Piper made her Doctor Who debut in March 2005 after a very successful singing career. |
From BBC NEWS, UK: Actress Billie Piper is to leave Doctor Who at the end of the current series, the BBC has confirmed.
But the corporation refused to comment on reports that her character, Rose Tyler, would die in the final episode.
"It has been an amazing adventure and I can confirm it comes to an end, for now at least, as series two climaxes," the former pop star said.
Writer Russell T Davies said the Doctor Who team had created "a stunning exit" for Piper's character.
"The Doctor Who team have had a whole year to plan this final scene," he said.
"We will miss Billie and wish her all the success in the world for her future." Piper, 23, is currently filming a BBC adaptation of Philip Pullman's Victorian thriller The Ruby in the Smoke.
"Rose and I have gone on the most incredible journey over the past two years," she said.
"I am truly indebted to Russell and to all the Doctor Who fans old and new who have been so supportive."
Speculation has been mounting over Rose's future on the programme, although the BBC had previously scotched reports predicting her departure.
The series two finale, entitled Doomsday, sees Rose and the Doctor, played by David Tennant, caught up in an invasion that threatens to destroy modern-day Earth.
Dave Bradley, editor of SFX Magazine, told the BBC News website there had been "a lot of rumours" regarding Piper's exit.
But he said that even if Rose did meet a sticky end, the door would still be open for her to return.
"No-one ever stays dead in science-fiction," he said.
|
|
Well, first they kill my favorite Doctor, and now they kill my favorite companion. All in less than two years. While David Tennant has turned out to be a good doctor, it is mostly because he is supported by the great character of Rose Tyler. If the BBC fails to find a character that can sufficiently replace Rose, they might as well close up shop.
